Abstract: Reculturation through consumption has become a visible trend among individuals belonging to ethnic groups in France. Building upon Greimas & Courtés (1993) contributions and qualitative research, this article is centered around a semiotic analysis of reculturation through consumption. The semiotic square from here / from there is developed to show how individuals are reclaiming their ethnic heritage through products, brands and retail outlets.
