Abstract: We study the problematics of the acceptation and the appropriation of the new ideas, services and socio-technical systems for Sustainable Development, - and particularly investigate the role of the Perceived Usage Value (PUV) formation on the user side. Qualitative grounded theory study results are presented in this paper. Perceived Usage Value is defined as the mental construction of the "sens of usage" (anticipated/perceived usage experience, usage functional and symbolic benefits), realized by the user facing the pro-development novelty. The results of the multi-site case study within the SME support services show that the PUV is a motivationally bounded concept, being determined by the user's projects, tensionned desires and needs. The Tensional mechanism is explored, where user appears to refer to two points : the 'ideal' but also the 'critical' points. PUV appears to constitute the essence of the user's cognitive appropriation of the novelty and plays the determining role for the acceptation of the pro-development novelty into the user's life. Les résultats de l'étude qualitative sont présentés ici. La Valeur perçue d'usage est définie comme la construction mentale du
