Abstract:
The difficulties in the management of Atlantic salmon in France result from a group of conditions of the following nature : historical (government opposition to fisheries, chiefly since of the XVIIth century), sociological (preeminence of angling since about one century) and ecological (limitative policy in species protection and priority given to stocking of hatchery-reared fish).
