Abstract:
The article aims at reconstructing the ordoliberal discourse of W. Eucken and W. Röpke on the Social Question. The article shows the socialist and historicist roots of ordoliberalism. Eucken makes the disappearance of economic power within the economic process the key to solving the social question. Röpke insists more readily on the spiritual and moral dimension of the phenomenon of massification, a focal point of what he calls the social crisis of our time.
