Abstract: It is often taken for granted that during the summer of 1757, Quesnay converted Mirabeau to his own principles. The latter is supposed to have subsequently dropped Cantillon's analyses to adopt those of Madame de Pompadour´s physician. By referring to the circulation patterns propounded by the three authors, we aim to show that it was rather Mirabeau who may have convinced Quesnay of the necessity to represent the internal circulation of wealth, by drawing his inspiration from Cantillon.
