Abstract:
In his latest encyclical Laudato Si', pope Francis rehabilitates a notion of rest to which the economists have remained totally indifferent. By doing so, he invites us to reconsider the links between rest and economy. This re-examination results in a meaning of the rest which does not exclude it anymore from economy. Thus the aim of this paper is to rediscover the rest under an economic perspective, in order to draw economic lessons from a theology of rest.
