Abstract: Statistics concerning Services in China are underdeveloped. But services activities are evidently more and more necessary for the economic and social development of this country. Relying on the urban statistics of service activities that represent 30 % of the Chinese service sector, this work tries to extrapolate the results to the whole tertiary sector, using three complementary methods. One of its main conclusions is the urgency of improving the statistical knowledge of services in China.
