Abstract: This article analyzes the various models of agricultural development in the Rhône-Alpes region and the territorial anchorage processes that affect them very unevenly. This allows the identification of six somewhat contrasted rationales (patrimonial, conventional farming, product differentiation, proximity agriculture, the agro-ecological approach and the agro-rural system) even if they are often complementary in space and face common challenges. The benefits of the coexistence of models are finally discussed.
