Abstract: Companies of the social and solidarity economy, which are not focused on profit, offer weak returns on investment. In the case of managing social services, public assistance or grants are needed for them to be accessible to all. Social impact investors, who respond poorly to their equity needs, could divert them from their main social objective. Long-term, diversified, community-based financial approaches are needed.
