Abstract: This article questions the assertion that the ESS (social solidarity economy) is characterized by unprecedented economic representations that are potentially subversive of the dominant economy. Based on a survey of ESS recruitment in Lyon, it describes the representations mobilized by those recruiting in this sector, those related to the criteria for choosing good candidates, and the conditions of employment offered. Finally, it examines the origins of these representations.
