Abstract: This paper explores the consequences of the use of Social Networks in the hiring process; more specifically, consequences on privacy. The findings of two studies -one conducted among young Generation Y graduates and the other one among recruiters belonging to Generation X - underline the main differences regarding what people think they know about Web 2.0. These differences lead to a ray practices when it comes to the use of Social Networks in the specific context of hiring, as well as bring up concerns about privacy
