Abstract: This article analyses the application of the notion of social responsibility to the activities of research. In a first step, the article proposes a reflection on the notion of social responsibility and an application of this notion to the activities of a researcher. In a second step, re-using qualitative data from two case studies, analysis of issues related to the social responsibility of a researcher, highlights two methodological necessities: redefining the spatial dimension of the intervention and rethink the time of a research.
