EFFETS DE L'ENVIRONNEMENT SUR LE CONTROLE INTER-ORGANISATIONNEL: UNE APPROCHE PAR LA PROXIMITE

Abstract:
This exploratory and theoretical article brings together two hitherto separate approaches: the school of proximity and work on inter-organisational control. It asks the following question:what are the effects of proximity on inter-organisational control? By reference to the existing literature (Boschma, 2005; Ouchi, 1979), we identify five categories of proximity (institutional, organisational, cognitive, social and geographical) and two types of control (formal and informal). The effects of each category of proximity on each type of control are examined. A theoretical framework is proposed.
