Abstract:
Standardisation constraints (SOX, ISO) which are imposed upon companies are numerous and take different forms. Organizations must find tools which allow the integration of these constraints into their strategy. This study aims to show that process documentation can be a stan-dardisation integration tool. We propose to focus on the real case of an IT industrial enterprise which has developed a process documentation to face standardisation issues. Process documentation then seems to be a promising theoretical way to deal with transverse managerial problems such as standardisation. From a practical view, audits have been greatly improved in terms of speed and quality of information produced, but also in terms of continuous improvement practices. The major originality of this research is to show that process documentation can deal with the problems of standardization, but it is also a tool for process management .
