Abstract:
This work looks at the evolution of the mutual health insurance business from an industrial economics perspective. In a saturated market, service providers search for a competitive advantage, in particular by developing the management of customer relations. The growth of ancillary services (childcare, tutoring, etc.) can be incorporated in this strategy. By investing in new sources of profitability like home help services, mutuals are moving beyond supplementary health insurance and preparing for the future in an increasingly competitive sector.
