Abstract:
The practice placement in nurses' training plays a fundamental role in the development of skills, in an approach which alternates theory and practice. With considerable implications for professionalisation, the practice placement is an opportunity to develop technical (hard) skills and attitudinal (soft) skills, and brings into play the mechanism of the psychological contract. It must be properly supervised, while allowing the students to become players in their own development. The accumulation of practice placements enables nurses, professionals but at the same time novices, to be trained.
