Abstract: The author makes a summary and commentary of Nigel Dodd's article « The Social Life of Bitcoin », (Theory, Culture & Society, 2017). For the proponents of this alternative currency that is Bitcoin, technological power should be able to replace trust. This idea may be challenged by the real world test.
