Abstract: In his social representation, sport proposes the search for a healthy body, an ethics and a show. Sport demonstrates the benefits of competition (and in this sense, it is learning to capitalism), it produces a controlled conflict reducing destructive social violence (expressed in particular by wars or conflicts of social exclusions), it produces meaning collective (as an expression of the qualities of people and the need for a collective solidarity organization). It is even an instrument of education for the necessary changes in mentalities (the Bosman judgment was thus representative of the European unity of the labor market). Sport is more than sport. Economists have not addressed the issue from a geoeconomic and strategic perspective. Sport is a mixed good, both private (lucrative) and public (education, health, leisure). The question of how to finance sport is raised. Sport "carries" specific values and dreamlike representations that distinguish it from normal economic activity. However, it helps to mitigate the importance of social problems, while valuing the social competition rules, the supremacy of market values and the justification of inequality
