Abstract:
Even though logistic activities are suffering environmental, legal and economic pressures, logistic pooling is not as successful as might have been expected. Forms of complete cooperation, such as concerted logistics pooling (CLP), involve a change in actors' behaviour, whatever their characteristics or objectives. The CLP presented in this research faces obstacles to its development which seem difficult to overcome. In that case, the logistics service provider (LSP) might play a key role in shippers' decision to adopt a logistics pooling solution. Six CLP case studies reveal the impact of obstacles and benefits perceived by actors, and the LSP's role in solving these obstacles and in the actors' willingness to develop a logistics pooling
