Abstract:
The map and the territory: a new reading of frontiers and attributes' measures of importance and asymmertry in the "tetraclasse" model This article exploits Llosa's tetraclass model (1997) statistical properties to switch from simple description to inference. The variances of both contributions and frontiers are calculated to test whether an attribute belongs to some given type and to better manage frontier attributes. A new way to present the results using scores of impor- tance and asymmetry is proposed, without any loss of information from the classic map. The rigorous analysis of this model's properties, hence of its assets and limits, enlightens the conditions under which its use is suitable.
