Abstract: The hotel industry is one of many industries that offer fixed perishable products that should be sold over a finite time horizon to heterogeneous customers. Because of its particularity, the hotel industry faces many challenges to decide the convenient room rate to offer. In order to understand price formation, we have studied pricing information assumed for the suggested dynamic pricing models for hotel rooms. In addition, we identified some factors that may influence the rate. We compared the results and suggested a list of information that might be useful to consider for price formation to optimize the revenue.
