Abstract:
If Simons' framework of control levers (1995) allows studying the influence of control over strategy and innovation, it neglects the political nature of innovation (Henderson and Clark, 1990) and the influence of plays of actors in the articulation between control systems (Tessier and Otley, 2012). Through a case study conducted between 2000 and 2013 in a retail bank, we show that the management of innovation is influenced by the individual strategies of managers and is not limited to a one-to-one relationship in the sense "Control- innovation".
