Abstract: We call organizational ghosts these actors who, although physically absent, have concrete manifestations and impacts on the life of organizations. These ghostly figures are indeed essential to understanding the history, the values and the leaders of a firm. How then can the different aspects of organizational ghosts be approached? And how do they help us enrich our understanding of organizations? By tackling these questions, we invite organizational actors – and theorists – to learn how to encounter their ghosts.
