Abstract: This writing presents some results of research carried out between September 2015 and May 2016, which aimed to explore the representations of HRD conveyed in 50 films broadcast in France. Because cinema is a particularly evocative medium from the point of view of the collective imagination, it can help us understand the stereotypes and prejudices reserved for HRDs in our country. As you might expect, the image that emerges from the analysis of the figure of HRD seen by the 7th art is often unflattering. It offers a stereotypical portrait of the HR manager who announces bad news to staff or the media, who drives reorganizations associated with social breakdown or who embodies someone inhuman, without mercy, faced with the unhappiness of his employees . Through the prism of a human resources manager faced with the suicide of one of his employees, the film "Corporate" by Nicolas Silhol (2017), released in theaters after we have completed our study, perfectly illustrates a trend that can be identified by some militant directors to denounce certain management methods. This practice of "HR Bashing" on the big screen is detrimental to the image of the HR function in the company and in society, but it is above all quite paradoxical since the HR function precisely has the main mission of attracting, developing and retain people in the workplace. In this context, it is becoming urgent to write a new scenario capable of renewing not only the image of HRD in public opinion, but above all of re-inventing HR practices by re-humanizing the function.
