Abstract: The geopolitical foundations of sport are solid. Sport wants to embody respect for standards with a system of values. However, it is a specific economic activity, to which human and moral values are attached that the facts sometimes make illusory. Sport is one of the instruments of public power and of national and sometimes ideological political and ideological orientations. It is also a vector of national unity and an indicator of the power of a Nation. However, today, it is part of the vanguard of economic globalization, but it also experiences strong abuses with doping and corruption. Finally, it serves as a diplomatic weapon supported by boycotts, embargoes or the threat of terrorism.
