Abstract: To advance research on coopetition strategies, we choose to explore a specific industry, among a wide range of business activities, characterised by the development of coopetitive strategies. The objective of this paper is to show how cooperation and competition interact to the evolution of this video games (consoles) growing market. In order to maintain their dominance, on the one hand, Sony and Microsoft struggle to win and on the other hand, have signed different partnerships with the same players. Several examples show the evolution of competition between the two rivals Sony and Microsoft. It is a descriptive and empirical approach as regards the two main firms' roles and objectives.
