Abstract:
International relations are now discussed and influenced by non-governmental organizations, particularly in the fields of human rights, climate, ecology and the search for peace. They intervene in the fight against lethal and economic wars and provide important information as a "whistle-blower".... However, their development highlights the dysfunctions of the world system. NGOs do not have the same ideals or the same centres of interest, but they sometimes exert questionable political and economic pressure because lobbying or states often support them. Moreover, they are not vested with any democratic power. NGOs often work collectively against excessive market influence in daily life, for the development of strong international and local law and against excessive inequalities.
