Abstract:
Disarmament affects many small French arms companies. Claude Serfati analyses the effects of arms production on capital accumulation, national growth and innovation. It acts as a drain on the national economy. It is a question of reproducing the meso-system to engage effects of inertia and irreversibility that ensures the power of the system. For Jean-Paul Hébert, the system of administered regulation of the arms production system in France is changing, due to the stagnation of the defence budget and the drop in exports. The entire system will be called into question now or in the near future. The peace dividend is not obvious, even if the appeal to the market seems to be a priority today.
