Abstract:
In the process of economic globalization, the State becomes a declining economic agent, controlled by international organizations that set rules that it cannot sovereignly contravene, without suffering negative effects in its international agreements. On the other hand, the State remains the guarantor of the general national interest, even if sometimes it mainly defends private interests. However, it must always guarantee its sovereign rights, support its economy and organise the internal and external security of its citizens.
