Abstract:
The digital transformation is a multidimensional phenomenon which can be analyzed from various perspectives. The digital transformation directly impacts the enterprise both internally and externally. In addition, its business relationships (with its main suppliers, competitors, and customers), partnerships and practices (for example within business ecosystem and/or networks it belongs) will change as a result of the transformation. Value creation mechanisms, value chains and business models are expected to be renewed (even disrupted) enabled by the increasing development of cloud computing, data analytics and IOT (Internet of Things). As the digital transformation is a huge phenomenon closely related with the digitalization of operations and processes, of products and services, and the development of digital business model, this paper is dedicated to the understanding in this context of the increasingly role of RPA (Robotic Process Automation) in carrying out business activities.
