Abstract:
Purpose - This article aims to present the specific context of CEE economies and its impact on firms' internationalization. It also introduces the contributions to this special issue. Design/Methodology/Approach – The article builds on existing studies and data on the internationalization of firms from transition and emerging economies. Findings – The article shows that CEE countries have experienced more changes more quickly than any other region in the world over the last quarter-century, and specifically when it comes to the international operations of firms. Originality/Value – The article contributes to the burgeoning literature on the impact of context on corporate strategy and performance.
