Abstract:
Military expenditure is public expenditure, a public good intended to satisfy the need for national security. They are often presented as unproductive expenditures. However, they exert an important influence on the economic situation, they contribute to the development of modern technologies and, directly or indirectly, to the level of employment in a national economy. In developed countries, they are often dominated by a powerful national military-industrial complex, but sometimes the economy itself is used as a weapon.
