Abstract:
Russia's great economic crisis has strongly impacted the economy of St. Petersburg. The occasion of celebrating the city's third centenary allowed for imported public and private investments that reconfigured the city and its industries. The military industry remains important, but the SS-20 missile factory now also produces teapots and stoves. Compared to other regions of Russia, St. Petersburg is experiencing a significant level of development. Confidence has returned, despite rising prices. The municipality is making great efforts to attract foreign investment, while the informal sector remains a fertile breeding ground for development.
