Abstract:
This article aims to describe the disruptive potential from the history of biotechnology linked to an R&D laboratory of the Northeast Biotechnology Network (Renorbio). Different methods were used for the research, based on an analysis approach of historical tales. Considering the basic dimensions underlying the disruptive technologies it is argued that biotechnology justifies its potential disruption to articulate constructs related to the Technology Enabler dimension. On the other hand, it was observed that some fragments of biotechnology tales transiting between the constructs of disruptive dimension – Innovation Management Model, especially after the creation of a new spin-off. However, it is considered that these constructs that comprise the dimension Innovation Management Model are limiting, as well as the lack of tales related to System Commercial Value, hampering the reali]ation of a break in its full potential. It seeks to contribute to theoretical construction in science & technology area, from a historical approach.
