Abstract: On the occasion of the UN procedures for analysing the impact of disarmament of developed countries, part of the funds saved would be devoted to helping the least developed countries; many studies have been initiated, mainly in Universities and research centre, to study the effects. These studies have not always been well disseminated. However, they present conclusions that sometimes differ from one country to another, but they also raise important issues such as the definition and comparison of military spending, the power strategies of states, national and international security, the conversion of arms industries, sectorial or regional crises following the cessation of public funding for arms industries and their suppliers, and the rise in international aid. Not every disarmament process leads to an improvement in national production and even welfare. On the other hand, without the willingness of developed states to help developing countries, the conditions for lasting peace will never be met, the disarmament process will be doomed to failure and new forms of conflict are likely to emerge.
