Abstract:
In public organizations, the need for modernization often results in the introduction of performance indicators. In an exploratory research based on a documentary analysis and a series of individual and collective interviews, we look at Pôle Emploi agents' perceptions of the effects of a performance management model on work. Although it was conceived as a vector for the creation of sense guiding and supporting the work of agents, the performance management model sometimes leads them to lose their sense of mission. It even confronts them with nonsense situations when they apply the model too instrumentally.
