Abstract: While many researchers strive to understand the impact of differences in culture on international management, less have looked inward to question how our cultural ‘scripts' influence our own research choices. This study examines cultural differences between the Anglophone and Francophone research communities by studying articles written about multicultural teams in 32 journals published from 2000-2012, comparing the methods, underlying approaches, and themes studied in literature on international teams from the two communities. We found that these communities have different perspectives about the study of culture, which not only guide how research is conducted within their traditions, but also what gets researched.
