Abstract:
The debate on the possibility of socialist calculation between Neurath and Mises and Hayek has as background the war economy, real-life size experience of planning. This debate has been preceded by Weber's opposition to Neurath's defense of calculation in kind. It is to a critical presentation of these positions that the article is devoted, from which emerges a reappraisal of Neurath's thesis in the history of economic thought and the originality of Weber's arguments that cannot simply be equated to the further main « Austrian » arguments in the inter-war debate.
