Hubert Bonin
Post-Print from HAL
Abstract:
Hubert Bonin is chapter presents the background of the expansion of French banks in the ‘imperial' Far East, that is, to set it back in the context of economic and nancial imperial moves from the Metropole to the various colonial areas overseas. e deployment of French banks, particularly Banque de l'Indochine, both in the European concessions in China but also in Indochina itself and other territories such as Singapore, cannot be understood without such a retrospective and broad reconstitution.
