Abstract: Although many research studies have acknowledged that digital transformation is a multidimensional phenomenon, it still lacks frameworks to articulate clearly how the digital transformation takes place through digital technologies. In this article, we focus on Robotic Process Automation (RPA), one of the most widely deployed digital technologies today within companies. We propose a framework to help organizations analyze transformational effects of RPA at the management level. We illustrate these transformational effects in the context of an international company, which has deployed RPA as a digital technology.
