Abstract: The participation of citizens in decision-making of local authorities in France is a reality increasingly taken into account. Participation, often set up at the initiative of local politicians, however, reflects the willingness of citizens to get involved in local politics with varying degrees of commitment and sometimes different expectations. This article highlight the reader about the definition and the issues of participatory democracy in the French local authority
