Abstract:
The question of the decline of the hegemonic powers is the subject of many analyses, often contradictory, between those who claim that the American leadership is no longer as strong as in the previous decade and those who consider that the new technologies, the democratic societal system and the power of American firms are essential elements for the peaceful hegemony of the USA. The recent history of the collapse of the USSR is a reminder of how the anarchic system of capitalism is likely to pose many significant economic and social problems for all states, due to the very fact of social fractures and growing economic inequalities between countries and between people.
