Abstract: The aim of this article is to characterise and define humanitarian logistics. The authors adopted a positivist position and proceeded in two stages. First, a meta-analysis of academic literature was carried out. Then, a unique case study, over a long period, focused on Médecins sans frontières logistique, was carried out and mobilised. This study was based on various materials (in situ observations, interviews, documentation, etc.). The main results show that humanitarian logistics ultimately relies on the coupling of an agile information system and a resilient supply chain.
