L’UE, puissance alimentaire
Vincent Chatellier
Post-Print from HAL
Abstract:
World agri-food trade has tripled since 2000 in current currency terms under the influence of several factors. The EU is the largest exporter of agri-food products, with 14.9% of international flows. It is ahead of the United States (12.4%), Brazil (6.9%) and China (5.8%). The EU is also the leading importer with 13.8% of world flows. This original situation demonstrates the very high degree of openness of the European economy, despite the external accusations sometimes made against the CAP of being protectionist.
