Abstract: Beyond Freeman's notion of stakeholder value, from Polanyian perspective, CSR – often limited to regulatory declarations – could put an end to abuses of financialization. The reconciliation of the values of cooperative banks (case of Crédit Agricole) and a new regulatory framework could institutionalize CSR through appropriation of new practices and going beyond the logic of opportunistic mercantile contracts.
