Abstract:
When countries engage in a voluntary disarmament process, economic variables do not directly drive the decision, although they do contribute to it. There are different forms of disarmament with different economic consequences. The question then is what are the economic foundations of national security? The economy is a weapon, it is also a factor of domination and disagreement with states. In the pursuit of national security, economic variables are directly concerned with the consequences of their development, but also with the random application of opportunity costs in defence spending, which prevents conflicts and keeps economic variables free from the consequences of war. In economic thought, the question of war is the subject of debate, on the warlike or pacifying nature of the market economy. Finally, the question of the economic determination of military expenditure is also the subject of scientific debate
