Abstract: The energy and oil crisis highlights the progressive depletion of soils and raw materials. The imperatives of profitability and profit of contemporary industrial societies lead to the neglect of man-nature and man-man relationships. The centralization of decisions favors the hazards and the extent of economic and social impasses. Warlike conflicts, even nuclear ones, are always within the realm of possibility. The codes of power are centralizing, based on hierarchy, unique knowledge, close and controlled social relations. It is necessary to imagine another social algorithm that cannot be satisfied with the dominant expression of individual interest, profit and power relations. The search for economic growth is not always accompanied by an improvement in living conditions in view of growing inequalities and human precariousness. In this context, economic choices must be the object of collective reflection, with flexible and incentive planning, and must privilege being over having. The ecological movements are an opportunity for today's society, because they highlight the potential for cataclysms that potentially await us if we are not careful.
