Abstract: It is interesting to study the effects of military expenditure on the main macroeconomic variables of a state. First, it is necessary to determine the available statistics, sometimes recomposing them to take into account the civilian or military nature of their content. Then, it is necessary to determine the significant macroeconomic variables, before choosing the econometric methods, with their tests and instruments, in order to determine the "significance" of the relationships based on deductive thinking. Finally, an economic analysis must be carried out in order to highlight the randomness of the result or its irrelevance in view of variables with simultaneous contrary effects. Several analyses are then necessary and each of the relationships must be interpreted in order to choose the one that proves to be the most significant, not only from an econometric point of view, but also from an economic logic point of view.
