Abstract: This paper examines the phenomenon of working time over-availability among high-skilled occupations in Europe, when these working-time conditions are considered as an impediment for women careers. The second aim of this study is to explain societal factors, which are correlated to the extent of this working-time regime as well as its gender composition, by comparing three different societal and gender contexts: France, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.
