Abstract: The article reports on the reception of The General Theory in France. First before its translation. The work was not unknown to French academics or to those concerned with economic policy, but this knowledge remained confined to theses, research and debates. After its translation, as a result of the personal initiative of J. de Largentaye, The General Theory penetrated both the various teachings of political economy and economic policy.
